After you complete the workshop, it is a good idea to try a site like Edmodo, which provides a safe social media opportunity for your classroom. This way you can monitor their interactions and guide them through the process of appropriate online communication. Edmodo is very robust; click below to go there, explore and create your account. Parental consent forms can be found at the Privacy Compass.
The eWarrior website, as well as the character Sir Catsalot and his friends, were created by Angela Jurgensen, a B.C. educator, in order to help engage students and teach students about online safety. This started as a project for her Masters of Education in Leadership at Vancouver Island University, and is intended to provide online training for students.
All material included here may be adapted and modified by teachers in order to fit their classroom configuration.
